A BLESSING FOR PARENTS

We bless ourselves in this sacred trust of raising children and our ability to meet all challenges as they arise.

We bless the garden of our home in its ability to produce strong and beautiful plants from the rich soil of tested values which constitute the true nourishment of our children.

We bless Thee, Mother-Father God, for the sacred privilege of raising these divine children of the stars. May their light shine ever brighter, and may we and all others be receptive to their brilliance.

We bless ourselves in our ability to understand the incredible challenges of growing up in today's world.

We bless our whole family in our ability to express boudless patience and unconditional love toward each other.

Er bless ourselves in our wise transmission to our children of the inner sense of integrity that will enable them to resist undue peer pressure _be it sex, drugs, popularity, clothing, or drinking _ with grace and humor, and be loved all the more of it.

We bless ourselves in our ability to share with our offspring that true wealth has little if anything to do with material possessions and a great deal to do with qualities such as love, compassion, and giving. May we express such qualities so unselfconsciously that our children will reflect them too.

Finally, we bless ourselves in our ability to stick together as a family through thick and thin, to do unto others as we would have them do unto us, and to be open to the world's problems and any heart in need.

* Education Begins Before Birth *

"I believe only in the educational value of parents' behaviour, both before and after the birth of their children. If parents do nothing to educate themselves, how can they expect to educate their children?

Everybody talks to parents about how to bring up their children as though they already had all the preparation they needed themselves.
If people have children it is taken for granted that they are capable of bringing them up. But very often, this is simply not the case: it is the parents, first and foremost, who need to be instructed and taught how to behave so as to be a beneficial influence on their children...

You may ask, 'But what can I do to prepare myself?' The very best way is to make sure that your THOUGHTS and FEELINGS, indeed YOUR WHOLE ATTITUDE and WAY OF LIFE are such as to ATTRACT EXCEPTIONAL BEINGS INTO YOUR FAMILY.

Yes. THIS IS POSSIBLE. Iniciatic Science teaches that children are not born into a particular family by chance. Whether they realize it or not -  and most of the time they are very far from realizing it -
IT IS THE PARENTS WHO ATTRACT THEIR CHILDREN.

And, this being so, THEY SHOULD CONSCIOUSLTRY TO ATTRACT DIVINE BEINGS, GENIUSES, INTO THEIR FAMILY.

THEY HAVE THIS TREMENDOUS POWER OF CHOOSING THEIR OWN CHILDREN ... and most of them do not even know it.

So, the whole question has to be reexamined from the beginning, and the beginning is the conception of a child. Parents never think that they should prepare themselves for months or even years before conceiving a child: IT IS A SACRED ACT!

As often as not their children are conceived when they have been out on a spree, eating and drinking too much! This is the moment they choose... if they can be said to 'choose' at such a moment. THEY COULD HAVE WAITED FOR A SPECIAL MOMENT OF PEACE AND LUCIDITY, FOR A MOMENT WHEN THEY WERE IN CLOSE HARMONY WITH EACH OTHER.

But, no. They pick a moment when they are besotted by alcohol and not fully consious of what they are doing. This is the sublime condition of many parents at the moment of conceiving a child!
HAVE THEY NEVER STOPPED TO WONDER WHAT ELEMENTS THEY INTRODUCE INTO A CHILD CONCEIVED UNDER THESE CONDITIONS?

A child which comes into the world burdened with such elements is the first victim of its own parents.

And now, WHO DO YOU SAY SHOULD BE EDUCATED?
I will tell you: THE PARENTS, NOT THEIR CHILDREN.

If parents are forever quarreling, telling lies and cheating others in the presence of their children, how can they possibly hope to educate them? It has already been ascertained that a baby can fall ill and show signs of nervous disorders when its parents quarrel...

PARENTS MUST BE AWARE OF THEIR RESPONSABILITIES...

Sometimes I see parents behaving so unbelievably stupidly that I ask them, 'Tell me ... do you love your child or not?' Of course, they get very indignant, 'What? Love him? Of course we love him?'

But I am obliged to tell them, 'I don't believe it. If you love him you'd change your attitude and start trying to correct some of the things which have such a disastrous effect on him. But you don't make the slightest effort. Is that your love?' ...

I want to make them understand that they must not bring children into the world simply to satisfy an atavistic instinct of procreation. The instinct continues to exist, of course. But it is high time that it was transposed onto a higher, more spiritual plane: THE ACT OF PROCREATION SHOULD BE ACCOMPLISHED WITH THE FULL PARTICIPATION OF THE MIND, SOULD AND SPIRIT, AND, IN THIS WAY, YOUR CHILD WILL HAVE BONDS WITH A WORLD SUPERIOR TO OUR OWN.

Most people are content to live like animals: they eat, drink and procreate like animals. There is not spiritual content to what they do.
Love simply does not count: it is pleasure which is all-important and, for a few minutes of pleasure, they will have to pay for the rest of their lives and their children also...

Indirectly, in doing for you, I am doing something for the children you already have and for those you will have in the future".

LOVE and RESPECT

Every child is the maximun expression of Love.
He is an exquisite gem who has the right to shine his beautiful Light.
As parents, tutors, guardians,custodians,educators, teachers, professors and simple human beings, the main job is making the Light of a child shine always.
That Light will shine through LOVE and RESPECT.
